The Radio Spot Doc is Shel Bynum. Shel has been a radio professional for over 35 years. In that time he has been witness to the many changes in the commercial radio business. After proving himself as an adept on-air broadcaster and as an award winning radio commercial producer, in 1998 Shel retired from radio programming to concentrate full time on commercial production. In his position as Production Director of a suburban Washington DC radio group, Shel studied new advertising techniques, methods and theories. The gentle ‘art of persuasion’ that is advertising has changed quite a bit over the years, so he studied and learned new ways to give his company's clients an edge over their competitors. And coming from an education background, he recognizes the importance of research and education. So he continues to study and learn. As a result, he knows what works. He knows what doesn’t. And he knows why.
